Shallow Adhesive Cups are perfect for fanning techniques because less adhesive is required to be able to dip the base of the fan into it, while keeping a clear view. The shallow base means you can easily dip the base of fans at the top of the adhesive, rather than at an angle, to avoid too much adhesive seeping up lashes and closing the fan.
