AED Rescue SAM

The AED Rescue SAM is a high-performance semi-automatic external defibrillator (AED) built to support both trained responders and lay rescuers during cardiac emergencies. It analyzes the patient’s heart rhythm and advises when a shock is required, while guiding the user step-by-step through clear voice prompts and visual indicators.

Defibrillation & Performance

The Rescue SAM uses a Biphasic Truncated Exponential (BTE) waveform with impedance compensation to deliver safe and effective therapy. It provides a fixed 200J shock for adults, in line with ERC 2015 guidelines, and delivers reduced energy (<50J) for children when used with optional pediatric pads.

• Analysis time: ~6 seconds
• Charging time after “shock advised”: <6 seconds (with new battery)
• Shock energy accuracy: compliant with IEC EN 60601-2-4
• Pacemaker detection and rejection for added safety

User-Friendly Operation

Designed for simple and confident use, the AED Rescue SAM includes:

• Clear voice instructions guiding every step
• Easy controls: ON/OFF, Shock, and Info button
• LED indicators and a flashing red shock button when ready
• Automatic disarm if shock is not delivered within 15 seconds, if pads are removed, or if the unit is turned off

Shock Delivery

Shocks are delivered via:

• Adult pads in anterior-anterior (Lead II) position
• Pediatric pads in anterior-posterior position
• Patient isolation rated Type BF for electrical safety

Battery & Power

Powered by a 12V lithium manganese dioxide disposable battery, the Rescue SAM offers:

• Minimum 200 shocks or 4 hours of continuous operation
• Daily automatic self-tests checking circuitry, waveform system, and battery
• Comprehensive testing when a new battery is inserted

Data Recording

The AED Rescue SAM records and stores:

• First 60 minutes of ECG
• All rescue events and analysis decisions
• Data can be downloaded via a dedicated interface (Sold Seperately)
